Twice a year, we send a group of Pilgrims to meet our wine producer, i Lauri, in Abruzzo.  
 
Wine forms part of our culture here at Pizza Pilgrims. We want everyone to appreciate how it’s made, where, and the makers behind the product while gaining the confidence to share what they know with teammates and guests. 
 
Our lucky ‘Wine Pilgrims’ get to learn all about the wine production process, gaining a personal understanding of wine production from vine to wine, from the sustainability efforts used, the vinification and ageing equipment in the winery, first press to barrel, right through to the packaging on the bottling line. 
 
When they’re not sipping wine & frolicking in the vineyards (hard life...), they’re enjoying the warm hospitality of the Abruzzo locals, who have been running restaurants, cafes, and museums in the area for over 50 years. The food was, of course, unbelievable. There was also very important ‘research’ time spent on the beach. Getting a feel for the surroundings is all part of it, right... 😉
