The scores are in! Announcing our Head Chef of Cambridge, Anton Cherepakha as our 2024 Doughdown champ and our September guest spesh.

If you don’t already know, the Doughdown is a key moment in our chefs' calendars. It’s our way of celebrating our chefs and their passion for pizza. For the back story, give this post a quick read.

After going head-to-head with four others in the ultimate cook-off. We crowned Anton the champ and his pizza is now our September special.

Anton has been a Pilgrim since 2021 where he started a senior chef, he’s worked his way to Head Chef last year now proudly heading up our Cambridge pizzeria.

Anton’s surname means turtle, but he reckons he can make pizza faster than a cheetah. He also participated in the Ukrainian Pizza Awards in 2019, bringing home the title of the best pizzeria of the year, so he is no stranger to winning comps!

Before becoming a pizza chef, Anton worked in a few Asian concepts, which really shaped his taste and style. His idea for this pizza was to fuse his cherished past experiences with his current love: pizza! It’s an Asian Italian love letter.
